1. Chicken Soup.
Not just an old wives tail forced upon us by Grandma. Scientists at the University of Nebraska Medical Centre found that Chicken Soup can act as an anti-inflammatory which can relieve some symptoms. It also speeds up the movements of mucus, relieving congestion.
2. Garlic.
Garlic contains the compound Allicin which has been found to contain anti-bacterial and anti-fungal qualities. To maximise the amount of Allicin you should eat fresh cloves raw and crush. This is also perfect for repelling vampires and women.
3. Orange Juice. Vitamin C is a natural anti-oxidant and helps your body fight off infection. Citrus fruits are full of Vitamin C so try mixing up a smoothie of oranges, apples, pineapple and other fruits.
4. Peppermint tea. Peppermint has a variety of decongestant; expectorant and antiviral properties which can help soothe a sore throat and relieve a dry cough or cold and flu like symptoms. A good follow up to use if garlic didn’t work for you.
5. Ginger. The ginger root herb has long been reported to cure a range of ailments from nausea and arthritis, right down to the common cold. The spiced flavour will help soothe your throat and clear blocked sinuses.
